The doctoral thesis entitled “Theoretical and experimental contributions to monitoring of vital parameters using intelligent control systems based on sensors integrated in textile structures and Cloud Computing services” presents theoretical and experimental studies on monitoring vital parameters through textile sensors and intelligent control systems that allow data storage in the Cloud. The main research directions addressed contain: i) the development of the electrodes or sensors based on textiles integrated into monitoring systems; ii) design of the intelligent system architectures; iii) a software application that allows the acquisition of biomedical signals; iv) evaluation of the reflectance/transmittance of electromagnetic radiation in human tissues by spectrophotometric method; v) processing and predictive analysis of the EEG signals using multivariate techniques and artificial neural networks feed-forward based on the optimization algorithm Levenberg – Marquardt backpropagation; vi) evaluation of the correlations and covariations between the biomedical signals emitted by the brain (EEG) or muscle (EMG) and pulse (PPG). In the framework of the doctoral thesis, the sensors and textile electrodes have been designed and made textile electrodes and sensors by conductive yarns with Ag and stainless-steel content. The electrodes and sensors designed have been used in systems to monitor the humidity/temperature of the human body, respiratory rate and electrical activity of the heart. A monitoring system has also been developed to connect to an IoT platform and store data in the Cloud. For the subsequent use of the data, anonymization was performed through the differential confidentiality method.
